When I posted a few days ago about LJ going to Lineman school I used some generic pictures I had found online. Yesterday he came home with these pictures to show me. Thought I'd share. He's the one on the right.
LJ has been thinking about Lineman school for a few years actually. He'll never be able to work in an office setting, he would much rather be outdoors and work with his hands. He went to a career fair once and saw this field. It's a much more stable work environment than what he's used to with a union so the benefits are very good. The schedule is consistent and when he's done working, he's done and can be Dad at home. There was a 2 year waiting list for this school when he first looked into it. When he did apply he was put on a waiting list but luckily did get in this year. They only take new applicants in the fall semester so we were greatful to get him in now. In May he'll be done & then we'll find an apprentiship which usually start at 60K a year. Certified Lineman start at 90K a year and there is always overtime. He was told that once he's certified he'll be able to find a job any where in the country.
So...why lineman school? And great pics!
