Labor Day Weekend

Every Labor Day weekend, L.J.'s family goes camping. With L.J.'s work schedule we don't always get to spend the whole weekend camping but we spend as much time as possible there. Here are the pictures from this year:

We all rode in the truck this time because I didn't want to drive my van out to the campsite. With out the DVD player we had to find other ways to entertain the kids. Luke was so cute with his MP3 player. (Actually it's mine but he likes to think it's his.)

Within just a few minutes of getting to camp Luke is already covered in dirt!

At least it's not this bad!! I'm sure Rigdon got a little help from some older cousins. He was wearing the perfect t-shirt. ha ha
The girls love playing with their cousins!

The adults got in some much needed, R & R...

It was good to see Aunt Katie there! She drove all the way from Utah and ALL the kids were so excited to see her! (Sorry I didn't get a picture of you awake Katie.)

L.J's favorite part of this whole weekend is the horse shoe tournament. They had the official rule book out and everything! They played with partners and he was with his Dad. Although this just wasn't their year. His brother Troy and Fred won. You'll get 'em next year, sweetie!

Nice one!!!!

Colby & Charlene brought another fun game to play. I'm not sure on the official name but two golf balls are attached with a piece of rope and you try and swing them around a bar for points. It's a lot harder than it looks!

Here are the girls ready to make their attack on the boys.

Some more kids having fun.

Gotta do the silly face..... :)

What is it with kids & fire? They love to get as close as they can.

Here are some individual pictures of the kids, in no particular order:
Makenzie, a.k.a. Kenzie:

Lyla (she wasn't always this clean):

Landie (who did not want to pose, this was the best one I got):

Haidyn (a.k.a. T.R.O.U.B.L.E.) ;-)

Luke & his favorite stick:

Addyson is always singing a sweet song:

Rigdon (before the girls got a hold of him):

Cooper (say....aren't those the horse shoe stakes? Well, they were just sitting there.)

Emily was too busy building her fort to stand up for a picture.

Carter didn't mind striking a pose.

No one has ever accused Ally of being a girly-girl!
Chealynne (a.k.a. Shaddy)

Kamryn has no fear & will do anything the big kids are doing!

And last but not least is Brooklyn. It's probably a good thing her mom wasn't there to see how dirty she really got.
When Luke gets tired, he'll lay down anywhere.

I was a little disappointed that I didn't get any pictures of the awesome dutch oven dinner we cooked Sunday evening. A big Thank You to my friend Kathy for her delicious recipe and good cooking tips! Everyone enjoyed it along with dutch oven cobbler for dessert.
Here we are the next morning entertaining the kids while the Dad's pack up camp. A bag of Red Vines & the back of a pickup usually does the trick.

And of course we've gotta have the funny face picture too!!!!
