Luke Makes Me Laugh

My son Luke is the funniest kid I know.  He makes me laugh everyday and keeps everyone around him entertained.  I could easily write a book of the funny things he says & does.  Here are a few just from today:

"Mom, Emily kicked me!"

"Were you kicking her?"

He walks away in silence.

"Mom, I don't want you to have a baby in your tummy.  It makes you big and fat."

Earlier in the day he swallowed a penny.  He was very upset that he couldn't have the penny back.  For a good 45 minutes he kept asking me to get the penny back for him.  I was in the middle of something and I wasn't giving him more than "I can't" for an answer.  Finally I stopped and explained where the penny was right then and the only way he was going to get it back.  He said, "Well that's disgusting."  He hasn't asked for the penny since.

This next one was last week but I have to throw it in too.  I was leaving my OB appointment and got a text from L.J. saying Luke had a surprise for me.  I got a little excited and hurried home only to find a nice pile of poop on the bathroom floor.  It was only a surprise for me because L.J. didn't want to clean it up.  Anyway, Luke has recently mastered peeing standing up and he is so proud of this accomplishment.  He tells everyone he sees that he can now pee standing up.  I guess that morning he thought he could poop standing up too.  He felt bad and I told him it was OK to sit on the toilet when he needed to poop.  Then he said, "Maybe when I'm six I can poop standing up."

There is not a day that goes by that I am not grateful to have Luke in my life and to be fortunate enough to be his Mom.
