I have not posted anything in quite awhile. I was afraid I'd have a hard time keeping up with a blog and it seems to be true. We had a crazy/fun/eventful/wonderful holiday break from school and traveled all over the state of AZ. I have a card FULL of pictures with stories to post but honestly don't know when I'll have the time.
Right after the girls went back to school I got really sick. At first I thought it was a flu bug since most of my family had been dealing with that already. Then after several DAYS of sitting in the bathroom (I'll not share any more details than that) and when I wasn't in the bathroom I was curled up on the bed with stomach cramps, I decided something else was wrong and went to the doctor.
Turns out I had some reaction to an antibiotic I was taking for a sinus infection. The doctor said I had to shut down my bowels and not eat anything solid for three days. Just the thought of what I'd have to go through if I did eat anything easily kept me away from food. I am feeling better now. Not perfect but a lot better.
Why am I mentioning this? Only to share that after this yucky ordeal I lost another 6 pounds! Ummm...yea, that is the exact same amount I lost after 30 days of Isagenix. Crazy. I agree with my friends. Not every diet works for everyone. I don't recommend the "shut down your bowels" diet but it was nice to have dropped a few pounds when it was over.
For an update on LJ he lost 14 pounds but can't seem to get any more off. Not that he needs to but he'd like to drop a few more. I just joined a new gym and he joined with me so I'm excited about working out again.
Once I get my checkbook settled up and pay some bills, I'll get working on posting about our Christmas adventures.
Yikes, as soon as I read you were having flu symptoms I thought "she's gonna lose a ton of weight!" I'm glad you're feeling better, but YIKES! Sounds horrid.
ReplyDeleteOh man, I'm sorry about your sickness...that is the worst! I got sick the day after New Year's and thought I was seriously going to die. My bathroom experience was obviously not as horrible as yours since I didn't have to "shut down my bowels" but...I was at the gym, and after working out I got SOOOOOOO sick (seriously thought I was gonna die, never been in that much pain) and I barely made it to the toilet where I was, let's just say, doing both yucky things at the same time...ALL OVER THE GYM BATHROOM!!! SICK! I have never had a more horrible experience. So, I feel ya. I'm happy for your weight loss, too. Lucky. I still have 30 to go before I'm really where I want to be. But working out 5 days a week training for this triathalon is really helping, and really helping my diabetes.
