It's My Birthday!

Yep, I'm 34 years old today. It was a pretty typical day, nothing too exciting but still a nice day. I got lots of phone calls from friends & family. Thanks everyone! It made me realize how many people I've forgotten to call and wish Happy Birthday to this year. Next year I'll do better.

Like I said in my last post, LJ had to work so I got Pei Wei take out for just me. The girls hate Chinese or anything like it so they got Costco pizza. LJ hates Pei Wei because of one bad experience there but I love it so I usually get it for myself when I can.

LJ is supposed to take me out for lunch & maybe a movie tomorrow so that will be fun. Just getting to spend time with him without the kids for a little while will be all I need.

I spent the day ignoring my To Do list, the dirty dishes in the sink & the laundry and not feeling guilty about it. I did things I wanted to do like get our Christmas cards ordered, catch up on reading blogs & Facebook messages & playing with the kids. Luke put his arms around me and said, "I wuv you" all on his own this afternoon. It was the best! Later I was getting frustrated with something and he said, "Lemme see your happy face mommy!" It made me laugh. I don't know where it came from but recently he started saying "see my happy face" and then he'd smile really big. He's a cutie!

Maybe Lyla will give me a birthday present and sleep all night tonight. I can only hope. She is STILL getting up at least 2 times & sometimes even 3 times a night. Every once in a while she'll sleep all night but not very often. One night about a week or so ago I had had it. She had eaten only about an hour before so I decided she was just going to have to cry herself to sleep. It was about 1:30am and I put a pillow over my head and went to sleep. About 6:30am I wake up and she's still crying! I felt SOOOO bad. I have no idea if she was really crying all that time or not but her eyes were pretty red when I got her up. I calmed her down and gave her a bottle but then I tried to lay her in her bed and she freaked out!

Ally & Emily were very nice to each other today and didn't fight at all. I know that was their gift to me and I really appreciated it. They also wrote me a cute poem and drew some pictures for me. Then they cleaned up the house from all of the clutter before going to bed. It was very nice.

All in all a very good day!
