I liked the idea of cleansing the body as a way to loose weight. I can see many other benefits to cleansing as well, more energy, better health, etc. I've never smoked or drank alcohol so I know I'm pretty healthy already but there are still tons of other toxins out there that we can't control.
Honestly, I don't know very much about the details of program yet. If you're interested you can go to http://www.isagenix.com/. What I do know is that I know at least 9 people who have used the program and love it. All have lost weight and some a significant amount. I've been impressed with what I've seen.
In the beginning we weren't interested because it was a network marketing thing. I'm the first one to run the other way when I hear the words "upline" or "business opportunity". I hate these things. I always thought that if it was a good product they should put it on a store shelf and I'll try it if I want to. This summer Colby's mom gave me some of the products to try. They weren't too bad. As far as nutritional supplements go, they did taste pretty good. The cost was also a factor. It's not cheap and we still have kids to feed as well as buy the products. I did think that we should just start exercising more and be patient. The weight will come off. We are just so busy, me with the kids & L.J. with work. I'd make it to the gym 3 times in one week and then not make it again for another 3 weeks. I just can't be consistent right now. I decided that this could be the kick start we needed while we still try and incorporate more exercise into our routine. In the end we decided to go ahead and give it a try since we saw success with those we know.
Yesterday our order arrived. It was in a large box and the products looked like this:
Since this is an investment for us we decided to take it seriously and track everything. We bought a new scale and are going to keep a journal of our weight and inches. I've never cared about a number for my weight. I know when my clothes are getting too tight but this time I wanted to see the actual progress on paper.
That's also why I'm mentioning it here. I thought I could post every couple of days and journal how I'm doing and keep track of our experience.
Today we had our 2 shakes and one sensible meal. It wasn't too bad. The vanilla shake is better than the chocolate. There are some recipes included to help give a little variety to the shakes. We'll start trying those tomorrow. I really wasn't hungry most of the day but tonight I'm feeling the urge to munch on anything. It's good that L.J. & I are doing this together. I was standing in the kitchen staring in the cupboard and he said, "Don't do it, just walk away." That's all I needed. There's also a liquid that we drink 1 oz of each day. I thought it was gross but L.J. didn't mind it. He said it tasted like prune juice. It's only 1 oz so I can handle it. Then there are some pills to take too and we're supposed to drink lots of water to help flush our system.
So that's it.....here we go. We are officially on the 30-day Cleansing/Fat Burning Program.
wow, good luck! sounds interesting!
