Pregnancy Pictures

Most everyone knows we had a major event happen in our family this year. After MANY years, I was finally able to have another baby! I went through many months of my own "shock & awe" as I realized I was given such a wonderful blessing and it was hard to believe it was really happening.

One of my regrets with my pregnancy with Ally was that I didn't take any pictures of me pregnant. Then all those years went by and I didn't have anything to remember the pregnancy with. Anyway....I decided early on that I was going to have maternity pictures taken this time. I started thinking about how I would have those done and I remembered that when my sister-in-law, Caroline got married I loved her wedding pictures. I was really impressed with the quality and with how many beautiful pictures she had to remember that day. So I called her up and asked for the name & number of her photographer. She tells me his name is Mark Mabry. Yea, that's the guy who did the Reflections of Christ art exhibit. This just happened to be right after he finished taking the pictures but they had not gone on display yet so I didn't really know who he was. I was able to set up an appointment with him to take pictures of me and also of our family. We were very lucky to be able to have him as a photographer.

The pictures he took recreating scenes of Christ's life are amazing! If you're not sure what I'm talking about go to http://www.reflectionsofchrist.org/ You will see what I mean. The art display is now touring around the country. If you hear about this display coming to your area, I HIGHLY recommend you taking time to go see it. The documentary that is shown along with the display is well worth viewing too. It made me want to see the pictures all over again. And now Deseret Book is selling a book & DVD of the pictures & documentary. They are beautiful in the book of course but the originals on display are so much more moving! Like I said, it would be worth the time to go see them.
I'm so grateful to have our own "Mark Mabry" pictures too. Here are some of my favorites.

As we were getting ready for this shot, Mark asks Luke if Mommy has a baby in her tummy. This was Luke's reaction. Mark said this one was his favorite. I love it too.

Everyone was ready for Lyla to join our family!
