Halloween 2008

OK - So I'm a little late posting Halloween pictures I know. That's the way we roll around here, better late than never! I just wanted to have them up before Thanksgiving so we're good.

These are most of the Brown cousins. We always go over to Dean & Tracy's house and tricker treat with them each year.

Here are my 4. We had Princess Lea, a Gothic Vampire, Buzz Lightyear & the cutest bumble bee ever.

It was a little tricky this year with Luke. We talked about him getting a Buzz Lightyear costume and he seemed excited about it. He did love it - as long as it stayed on the hanger, hanging on the back of his bedroom door. When ever we tried to get him wear it, he would have nothing to do with it. The girls put on their costumes but still he wouldn't even touch it.

Our ward Halloween party was a week before Halloween so once again we tried to get Luke to put on the costume. Nope! It had already been a long day so I went right for Plan B. He has a red Elmo hoodie that he loves to wear so we put that on him with some red sweat pants and he went as Elmo and didn't know the difference. Here is the only good picture I got from that night.

Then Halloween day came. I just planned on Luke being Elmo again and saving the Buzz costume for someone else next year. Then Luke was watching his favorite shows on TV that morning and they were all having special Halloween episodes. The characters were dressing up in their costumes. I heard him tell the TV that he had a Buzz costume. I asked him if he wanted to wear his Buzz costume and he said, “Yea!” and ran to his room to get it. I was shocked! He did let me put it on him so I quickly took a picture in case that was my only chance. Here he is in the bathroom checking himself out.

There was also a pair of wings for the costume but he was only willing to have these on for about 30 seconds. I was lucky to get this picture. He wouldn't have anything to do with the wings but I didn't care. He was finally excited to wear his costume and just in time!

That night it was time for everyone to put on their costumes & he was ready to go!

Buzz wears Thomas the Train shoes, right?

Luke loved getting candy in his bucket! He had something in his mouth the entire time we were tricker treating.

There's one house in this neighborhood that the kids remember going to every year. They go all out and make a pretty scary spook house in their front yard. Only the bravest of the kids even attempt to go through. Some go along just to help Grandpa so he's not scared. Ha Ha! I didn't even try to take Luke over to this house but the screams could be heard from quite a distance away. He immediately wanted to be picked up. Dean got this next picture. I think Luke was trying to block it out like it didn't exsist or something.

All in all it was a very fun night and the kids came home with way too much candy!
