Last Sunday was Lyla's 1st time going to Nursery at church!!!! Well, officially the 1st time. I did take her the week before and stayed to help get her used to being in there. That time she cried the entire time. If someone took her toy away or looked at her or stood too close to her..... I started thinking that we needed to toughen her up a little. Church is the exact time she is usually taking a nap so it's going to be difficult anyway.
This Sunday was much better but it didn't start off that way. We were walking down the hall and when we got to the door for Gospel Doctrine class, she wanted to go in. I told her we weren't going in there and she got so upset! She started throwing a fit in the hallway to go in there. I don't know why because we never got to stay in there very long before but that's where she wanted to be. I thought that I couldn't take her into nursery already kicking and screaming so we hung out in the hallway to calm her down. After a few minutes on the stairs that lead to the stage, I decided to try again. When we got to the nursery door she knocked on it, so cute. I knew they wouldn't hear her so I went ahead and opened it. They were excited to see her and luckily Luke was standing right there. She walked in and started waving to everyone. She never looked back so I took two big steps backwards and closed the door. I knew they'd bring her to me if she was having too hard of a time but we made it through the rest of church!
We have to take pictures of Lyla when she doesn't know it now. If she sees the camera we get her "CHEESE" face....
It's still cute of course but still. :)
We now have Super Luke living with us. Luke is going to be Superman for Halloween and he is so excited!! He wears the cape EVERY DAY. The first thing he did when he came home from church is put it on. He flies all over the house and jumps off everything he can climb on. Last night Emily was playing a game with him with our couch cushions. She was pretending to need to be saved and calling Luke for help. I heard him yell out, "Just a minute Emily, I need to get my cape. Don't worry!" He's our little superhero.
This week is midterms for L.J. Halfway through the first semester! He's enjoying the classes and is doing well on the tests. He's certified to climb up to 30 feet on the polls now. That would scare me half to death! It has been a little hard having him gone so much but the time is going by quickly. When ever he is home for a few minutes the kids love to play with him. Their favorite game is tackle Daddy.

Lyla is growing up so fast! She's going to be a reader just like her sisters.
Other than keep up with the kids, I haven't been able to do too much else but I did do a little canning recently. Tracy and I got some peaches from Utah and bottled them. We had about 60-70 pounds of peaches and ended up with 30 quart jars. I've canned before but only with other people who really knew what they were doing. I was usually given a job and just helped out. Tracy had never canned before so it was an adventure for us to go from start to finish and see if they were even going to turn out. Not too bad!!
