Osama Not Obama

This past Sunday was a beautiful day.  We went to church and then spent the day as a family.  Perfect.

That evening after putting the kids to bed I got ready to have some of my treasured alone time.  Well, Ruby was still awake with me but I could still sit down on the couch and catch up on a few of my shows on the DVR.

First I flip on the TV and then head to the kitchen to make a bottle.  I kept the sound very low since the kids had just gone to bed.  I see BREAKING NEWS on the screen and know that the DVR shows can wait.
By first glance I think I see "OBAMA IS DEAD" and my heart sinks.  Wow, what happened??  Then I see "Body In US Custody".  Hugh, where else would it be?  He must have been traveling somewhere.

I continue with the bottle then notice that the news anchor is smiling and I can hear enough to know that the two people talking are happy.  Jeez, I don't like the man either but show a little respect.  I hear something about "the President" addressing the American people in a few minutes.  They're already calling Biden "the President."

Then they show a shot of hundreds of people outside the White House cheering and waving flags.  WHAT IS GOING ON???  I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!!!

I grab my cell to text L.J.  He had to work that evening and I knew he wouldn't have a way to know the news.  I type out a message telling him OBAMA had been killed.  Luckily, I looked at the TV one more time before pressing send.  Magically I could read again.  OSAMA!!!!  NOT OBAMA!!!!

Phew!!!  That was weird!  It was like waking up from a bad dream not really knowing if it was real or not.  Not that this is of any importance to anyone.  I just wanted to make fun of myself for a minute.

The next morning I ran outside and put up my flag.  I know I should do it more often just out of respect but I never think about it.  Right now I am so proud of every soldier who has served our country.  What a great day for The United States of America!!!!
