I know that this blog seems to be about Luke & Lyla for the most part. It just so happens that they are the ones home with me all day and they are in that very fun / silly / crazy stage of life right now. Never the less I am just as excited to brag a little about my older girls, Ally & Emily!
These girls are HUGE helpers for me and I love them so much! Several weeks ago we had our Primary program at church. Our ward primary is so small that all of the kids get to have multiple parts and they only sit on half of the choir seats. My favorite part was the prelude music. All the kids in the primary that can play the piano each took a turn playing a church song. It was so sweet to see so many kids developing their talents!
We recorded these videos at home the other day. These are the songs that they played for the program. Emily was able to play For the Beauty of the Earth:
Ally was able to play Teach Me To Walk in the Light:
Both girls not only had a few one-line parts but also got to give 2 minute talks and of course they did really well!
At school they are both excelling and recently made the Honor Roll!!!
Emily was SO EXCITED to have a 4.0!! Ally had a 3.8 which is still awesome!
Since the girls are doing so well in school, with learning the piano and they are the greatest helpers at home, L.J. & I took them out for a fun evening recently. The first stop was dinner at their favorite restaurant…..Denny’s!
Then to the William Joseph concert. Our family has known William for years (I still have to remind myself not to call him Bill anymore) and it was soooo much fun to see him perform live again. What an amazing show! My sister-in-law, Shanne also joined us.
Afterwards the girls wanted to get Williams autograph so we waited while he greeted so many fans.
Sometimes it’s really hard for me to realize how fast they are growing up!! It seems like we just started school and I was crying my eyes out after dropping them off. Now Ally will soon be in Junior High and going into Young Women’s and Emily right after her. What happened to the dress up clothes and Disney Princesses on everything they owned? I LOVE THESE TWO GIRLS!!!
***Just a quick car update*** The good news is that the dealership’s insurance company is paying me retail value for my car which will pay off the loan and give us about $2,500 extra. That takes care of one dilemma. The bad news is that the dealership really doesn’t care what happened to my car and they don’t think they need to do anything else to help me. I could go on and on about the extremely poor customer service that I have received from LARRY MILLER DODGE on 87th Ave & Bell Rd in Peoria, AZ but right now I’m emotionally drained from dealing with it.
Last night I did sit down and email News Channels 3, 5, 10, 12 & 15 and gave them a quick summary of what happened. This morning a reporter from channel 15 called me and then this afternoon came to the house to do an interview. He told me that he was interested in sharing this story but at this point wasn’t sure if the execs would agree to air it. Since the dealership is doing what they are legally obligated to do, it’s not too likely. He’s trying to push it as a consumer awareness type story. We’ll see what happens.
So I’m without a car now. The insurance company will pay for the rental until Monday which they say is more than generous. Supposedly that’s enough time for me to buy another car. So now I get to go car shopping!
Great to hear about your growing girls! And I think it was a good idea to contact the TV stations. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteYa, they are growing up too fast. Its seems like they are still Katelynn's age and Katelynn should still be a toddler.
