That's going to be a huge commute for him (52 miles each way) but it's the only school with this program in the state. He already had so many classes finished that he only needs 2 semesters of EUT classes and he can start his apprenticeship. Yea!!
He is actually really excited for this change and even in this crazy economy, this is an industry that is still growing...and hiring!! An apprenticeship can last 4-5 years depending on the company you work for and then once you're a certified Journeyman Lineman, the pay is really good. The job is stable and the work hours are for the most part, during the day & during the week. That's my favorite part! I'm sure there will be on call time and weather emergencies but we can handle that.

He has always loved what he did for a living and he has always done an amazing job but he's also known for about a year or more that he needed to make a change with his work hours. They are crazy!! The kids aren't getting to see him as much anymore and he's missing a lot of family time. He's always been a great provider for our family and made sure that I am able to do my job at home with the kids. Even though it's going to be tough having him gone even more right now, we both feel like this change will be worth it and help us to be able to spend more time together as a family.

So what this means is that not only is he working 50-60 hours a week, he is also carrying 12 credit hours, working with the Boy Scouts at church and spending every spare day he can find up in Heber to finish our house and get it ready to rent. He has A LOT on his plate!!
I just wanted to share our good news and say how much I love him!!! He's our Superman!!!

wow, that is a big commitment. Good luck to both of you.
