Happy Mother's Day

This year for Mother's Day my Mom (and my Dad) are serving a full-time mission for our church in the Raleigh, North Carolina area.  I know that the thing my Mom wants more than anything else is more pictures.  So for a Mother's Day present to her I am updating my blog!  Here's a quick run down of our activites for the past five months.

Christmas morning ready for church.

This is Lyla's first Sunday as a Sunbeam.  (Same dress a week later.)

Caught cha!

We had some work done on our yard building a retaining wall so we can finally do some landscaping.  Luke wanted to help too.

Ally had her first season of basketball.  Turns out she really likes it.  Had a few bloody lips with her braces but she kept playing hard.

Luke took a fall off the school bus and got a bloddy nose.  He tripped on the first step and rolled right out.  We told him to say he had gotten in a fight with a ninja and he said, "Ya the school bus ninja."

Some fun at the park.

Emily got her ears pierced!!!

With Luke and two of my nephews having birthdays in February we uaully have a combined birthday party.  This year is was Angry Birds complete with a real game to play.  It was a hit.

Ruby in her favorite spot.

Luke is now SIX!

This is how I find him every morning.  He even told me that Lego are his life now.

Emily at her orchestra concert.  Yes she is mortified that I would make her take this picture.

Oh so fun!

Emily and her friends at her birthday party.  She wanted her favorite meal...sweedish meatballs from Ikea.

Yum!!

Then they danced and danced and danced.

And danced!!!

Such a cute face!

Work continues on our wall.  This is going to be it for awhile until we save some more money for the wrought iron to go inbetween the collums.

More legos and friends.

This picture is a little overdue.  Awhile back Ally won a speech contest at her school and then won 3rd place in the district contest.  They didn't have her name on the sign in the cafeteria before we moved.  So on a trip back to the valley we happened to be there when they were in school.  So I finally got a picture.

While we were visiting we went to go see the construction of the new Phoenix LDS Temple.  Not a lot to see yet but we are very excited to watch the progress.

The same day we had to head across town to go to Ally's orthodontist appointment.  It's right around the corner from the new Gilbert LDS Temple so we made another stop.

Luke was fascinated by the stone for the temple.  He had just learned a lot about rocks at school and asked the volunteer if it was made out of smoky quartz.  The man was stunned for a minute and said, "Well, yes it is."

At the end of this long day in the car we headed up the moutain for home.  With the 100th birthday of the state of Arizona this year there are these signs all over the valley.  They're usually on the busy freeways but I had noticed one on the highway into town.  I talked the kids into one more photo opp for the day.  Here are my 6th generation Arizonans!

Happy belated birthday Arizona!

Lyla's is FOUR!

Grandma sent her some money for her birthday.  Lyla picked out a pretty new dress for church.

I took the kids to the community egg hunt at the park.

Ruby and her BFF Jaycee.  At least I hope someday they'll be BFF's.  Right now it's just too hard to share.

Ally and Emily both ran track.  Emily really enjoyed it.  Ally tollerated it only because it should be able to help her in basketball.  Both did really well.

Yes, I made them pose like this.

Ally with her BFF Sienna.

Emily with her BFF Chealynne.

The girls had another piano recital.  I have some video of them playing that I hope to post soon.  We recorded it with Emily's new digital video camera but I don't know how to upload it to the computer yet.

Ally & Emily working with Chealynne & Makenzie getting pens ready for the pigs they are going to raise this summer.

Lyla getting ready for her first dance recital.

Phew!!!!!  No wonder I never have time to blog let alone sleep!

Last but not least here is my top FIVE reasons to be a Mom:
